01. Eggs. I have the same breakfast every morning (one egg on a wholemeal English muffin). I usually get eggs from someone I know who has chooks. When the clocks change for daylight saving, her chooks go off the lay and I have to buy at the supermarket. When I read Charlotte Wood’s brilliant novel, The Weekend, a few years ago, there was much discussion about the fact that the story focused on the inner lives of ‘older’ women, and that this is largely ignored in contemporary literature. At the time, I didn’t think it was but nor could I easily name any solid examples to prove otherwise. 01. Finished my diving certification (at Pope’s Eye and Boarfish Reef). I went to 16 metres and honestly, it was the most physically and mentally challenging thing I’ve done in decades.
