Things That Are Making Me Happy This Week

01. Chekhov’s tragicomedy, Uncle Vanya, brilliantly adapted for the MTC by Joanna Murray-Smith. What a treat. And the sets (above), with the backstage exposed and used as part of the space, were fantastic.

02. The Melbourne International Film Festival begins! I opened my account with:

03. Dinner at Little House – delicious, delicious, delicious. Standout: John Dory with an incredible and intense tomato sauce.

04. Watched: Trespasses (on SBS in Australia) – based on the book by Louise Kennedy, which I loved. Thanks for the heads-up, Susan, it was brilliant.

05. The 80s-vibe of these phone cases.

06. I love body scrubs. This is my current fave.

07. This guy’s polls on Insta. Hilarious and strangely uncomfortable.

08. Very disappointed that our hiking trip to Bruny Island has been cancelled… but turning my holiday-planning energy to an ocean-pools-in-Newcastle-adventure.

09. Listening: Yay! Role Model’s new album, Chuck Timely & The Hourglass, is finally here. Best tracks (apart from Joy, which is an absolute banger): Love I You, Good Thing, and Service Receipt.
