Things That Are Making Me Happy This Week

01. Festival is my middle name this week. The weekend was filled with Now or Never

  • began Saturday with a breath work session at the Royal Exhibition buildings (in the glowing pink MATRIA installation). How do we feel about breath work? I am always a little (pleasantly) untethered by it… Followed the breath work with the most delicious herb and gruyère omelette at Florian (and my friend had a spectacular mushroom tartine with whipped ricotta, anchovies and a soft boiled egg).

  • on Saturday night we went to all the free events – Burdi Burdi, Deliri, The World Came Flooding In, and the outstanding Einder (pictured at the very top) – it was absolutely breathtaking and I could have lay under that marvel and watched all night.

02. MTC’s Kimberly Akimbo – even the person in our group who ordinarily doesn’t like musicals gave this one the thumbs up.

03. Listening: New singles by Teen Jesus, Robbie and Daði Freyr.

04. While researching Riverfest events I found out about the launch of Swim Melbourne. Can’t wait for that.

05. Another insanely packed Melbourne International Film Festival week –

    • I’m sure it will show up on SBS or ABC at some stage! (this will sound a little obsessive but I keep my MIFF program and in about a years time, I’ll look up the things I didn’t get a chance to see on SBS or ABC – lots of the time they’ve been released to free-to-air).
