I’ve read 108 Kindle samples this year – I reckon that downloading sample chapters is more prudent than impulse buying books that don’t quite pan out after the first few chapters.
Of the 108 I’ve read, I’ve said ‘yes’ to 65. Of those that I’ve said yes to, I’ve read 14 (via the library) and own another three.
As always, I avoid a TBR-stack-blowout and narrow the shopping list down to the 15 that I’m busting to read –
- Misrecognition by Madison Newbound
- This Happy by Niamh Campbell
- Birding by Rose Ruane
- The Coast Road by Alan Murrin
- Dear Dickhead by Virginie Despentes
- Perfume and Pain by Anna Dorn
- Banal Nightmare by Halle Butler
- The Most by Jessica Anthony
- How to Love Your Daughter by Hila Blum
- Piglet by Lottie Hazell
- Sociopath by Patric Gagne
- Splinters by Leslie Jamison
- The Pulling by Adele Dumont
- Loved and Missed by Susie Boyt
- The Art Thief by Michael Finkel
Which one should I start with?
Piglet is fun. I found This Happy problematic. I have the Murrin in my TBR.
I enjoyed the Boyt but now remember little about it whreas The Coast Road still stands out. I have The Most, How to Love Your Daughter and The Art Thief on my list too.
The Boyt and Hazell were very good. I’m keen to try the Anthony and Murrin.
