01. Fab lunch at the brand new Bar Mexico (the interior – including the mural – was designed by my very talented friend, Steph). Grilled corn is always my benchmark dish at Mexican restaurants (it was delicious), but the highlights were the tasty flautas – fried tortillas filled with slow cooked beef – and the jalapeños poppers.
02. Our lunch included working out what we’ll see at the forthcoming Scandinavian Film Festival (which includes a Liv Ullmann and Ingmar Bergman retrospective this year, significant given that I recently read Unquiet), and planning for our 2025 trip to Cambodia. YAY!
03. Winter boots.
04. Nico’s has the best Tuna Melt, but this week I had one at Queens Bodega that was pretty darn good.
05. Watched: Summer Love (Netflix) – light and some episodes were very funny. Laughed out loud at the episode titled Jules and Tom and Jonah and Steph, and at the bittersweet Hannah and Alex episode.
06. I ended up home alone for dinner one night this week. I can’t remember the last time that happened. Cooked my favourite solo meal – a spinach, bacon and tomato omelette.
07. The last season of Orange is the New Black – yeah, I was so late to this party, but S7 was terrific (and I bawled in the last few episodes as story-lines wrapped up). Totally get why this show won a bunch of awards (image).

We don’t seem to have Summer Love here in the UK yet. Am I right in thinking it stars the actors from the wonderful Colin From Accounts? And is there a second series of CFA?
Yes, Summer Love features loads of well-known Australian actors (including from Colin From Accounts). There is a second season of CFA – it has started here already, but I no longer have that streaming service, so it’s on my list. I LOVED S1.
Wasn’t it brilliant? The BBC ran it here. I hope it was popular enough to merit them taking on the second series. And I’ll keep my eye out for Summer Love. Thanks, Kate.
I love anything that makes me laugh AND cry.
Those boots are GORGEOUS!
And really comfortable!
The HOLY GRAIL of boots!
Nice mural!
