Sample Saturday is when I wade through the eleventy billion samples I have downloaded on my Kindle. I’m slowly chipping away and deciding whether it’s buy or bye.
The Way Through the Woods by Long Litt Woon
Why I have it: Weezelle’s review at Words & Leaves.
Summary: A grieving widow feeling disconnected from life discovers a most unexpected obsession – hunting for mushrooms.
I’m thinking: Yes.
The Beneficiary by Janny Scott
Why I have it: No idea.
Summary: The story of a wealthy family from Philadelphia, and how an inheritance (financial, cultural, genetic) conspired in one person’s self-destruction.
I’m thinking: No.
Howard’s End is on the Landing by Susan Hill
Why I have it: Spotted in one of Susan’s #6degrees chains.
Summary: Hill’s year of reading from the books on her own shelves (yes, forsaking new purchases!).
I’m thinking: Yes.
I really enjoy Howards End A lovely book to dip in and out of.
I keep trying to leave comments and I think my phone is doing something weird so if you end up with a whole plethora of my comments I’m so sorry for spamming you! The first one sounds so appealing, I’m really interested in activities people focus on in grief. I’ll look forward to hearing your thoughts if you get to it.
Thanks for the link, Kate, I’m ashamed to say that I still haven’t got around to this one but your post’s given me a good nudge to get going!
