Sample Saturday is when I wade through the eleventy billion samples I have downloaded on my Kindle. I’m slowly chipping away and deciding whether it’s buy or bye. This week, all three were spotted in #6degrees chains.
Bellevue Square by Michael Redhill
Why I have it: via Kim @ Reading Matters
Summary: A woman fears for her sanity – and then her life – when she learns that her doppelganger has appeared in a local park.
I’m thinking: Maybe – too farfetched?
Twins by Dirk Kurbjuweit
Why I have it: via Kim @ Reading Matters
Summary: Rowing partners Johann and Ludwig are best friends, but that’s not enough. To defeat the region’s current champions (identical twins), they must become twins too – they will eat, sleep, breathe and even think in perfect harmony. But Johann has a secret he’s been keeping and it puts his ‘twin’ to the ultimate test.
I’m thinking: Yes.
Hangover Square by Patrick Hamilton
Why I have it: via Annabookbel
Summary: London 1939, and George Harvey Bone is pursuing a helpless infatuation with the cool and contemptuous Netta. Things turn murderous.
I’m thinking: No, it’s a style thing.
I seem to remember hearing good things about Bellevue Square. I have Hangover Square in the TBR and I’ve enjoyed Hamilton before, so I’m hopeful!
Seems I need to add #ALLTHESQUARES to the reading list.
Not wanting to give to much away but I’d trust Kim on Bellevue Square.
Hmmmm…. I guess I need to move it from ‘maybe’ to ‘yes’…
Nope, none for me I think. Thanks for summarising so I don’t have to!
Well, you usually know a page or two into a book whether you want to keep reading, I reckon.
Generally that’s true. I try not to give up too soon, but then sometimes regret wasting my time!
I enjoyed Hangover Square way more than I thought I was going to!
Seems to be strong support for Hangover…
👏🏻👏🏻 Bellevue, Bellevue, Bellevue.
Honestly, it’s one of those books you think is one thing before it morphs into something else entirely. (Thanks for the mentions, BTW.)
