01. Cocktails and snacks at The Florence – it’s newish; they have a negroni menu; and helpfully the kitchen is open until 1am. A Piazza Rosa above (Campari, hibiscus, gin and raspberries) and sensational oysters with negroni granita below.

02. The cocktails and snacks were had after we saw MTC’s Retrograde (a dramatisation of Sidney Poitier’s career start). It was fantastic – made better by being up-close to the actors.
03. So even though I’m just back from Austria… and had a mini-break in Rutherglen… I am planning some more holidays (Darwin and New Zealand’s north island). The anticipation and planning can be as much fun as the holiday itself, right?
04. Project Yarra started with my friend, Sam, in October 2020. Since that time we have walked huge stretches of the Yarra River from the Upper Yarra Reservoir in Reefton to its outlet in Port Phillip Bay. There are quite a few sections in the upper reaches that aren’t accessible by foot, so I was very excited to see this announcement about a 220km Yarra track.
05. Festival time: Now or Never; Nordic Film Festival; Edinburgh International Book Festival (high on my list are Sarah Perry, Douglas Stuart and Maggie O’Farrell); and the Spanish & Latin American Film Festival.
06. Watching: Summer House: The Aftermath. OMG.
07. Carlton’s winning streak.

The cocktails looked yummy but I really do not like raw oysters at all – the texture really really bothers me. We’ve been binging on the World Cup in my house!
There’s no in-between with oysters – it’s either a yes or a hard no, so I understand.
That is a beautiful looking drink and, like Melissa, I will pass on the oysters!
