Things That Are Making Me Happy This Week

01. I’m not overstating when I say that Opera Australia’s Orpheus & Eurydice was the most incredible production I’ve seen in thirty years (the previous benchmark being Barrie Kosky’s 1995 production of Nabucco). (image)

02. My last pick from the British Film Festival – Re-creation. Interesting concept but wasn’t entirely sold.

03. An afternoon listening to the bagpipes and watching people throw heavy things at the Daylesford Highland Gathering.

04. Bottomless brunch… argh. I love them and hate them (thankfully I could spend the arvo ‘resting’).

05. Started work on this year’s List of Lists and The Best Books of 2025.

06. Watching: In the Name of God (Netflix) – about the cult, JMS, that author Liz Cameron was a member of. Horrifying.

07. Love this Insta post about six-word stories (especially the Margaret Atwood one).

08. My Spotify Wrapped this year fully justifies my ticket to Laneway Festival 😀
