01. OMG. Have you seen the 2026 Laneway Festival lineup? Chappell! Lucy! Wet Leg! Teen Jesus! Role Model!
02. Hooray! It’s asparagus season (these delicious spears with some kind of buttery lemon sauce and fried shallots at Bar Liberty).

03. My daughter’s last stage band performance at Brunswick Ballroom (the end of school is coming up so quickly).
04. Voted in ABC’s Radio National Top 100 Books (I didn’t overthink my choices because I would have spent hours on it).

05. Saw A Big, Bold, Beautiful Journey…. umm… let’s just say the soundtrack was really good and leave it at that.
06. Making selections for the Italian Film Festival and the Jewish International Film Festival.
07. Someone looked at my FIAT and said, “How’s the Fix It Again Tony going?” It made me laugh.
08. Watching: The Playlist (Netflix) – not sure how accurate it is but it’s interesting.
09. First seasonal leaves on the oak I sprouted from an acorn a few years ago.

I have Stone Yard Devotional in the TBR so I’m delighted to see it in your top 10!
I didn’t overthink my votes either but I feel like I should have at least thought about it a tiny bit more 😂
Just saw The Illusion at the Italian Film Festival… a bit slow in the middle, and not really a comic film at all IMO, but interesting about a little-known aspect of Italian unification.
Thanks for the heads-up about JIFF… I subscribed to the Classic Cinema’s email list ages ago, but I never seem to get anything from them!
I think we’ll try to get to Diamonds and Signorinella. I thought The Mountain Bride also looked good.
Regarding JIFF – I see my JIFF films at the Lido, but I usually hear about the festival first from JIFF directly – maybe subscribe to their mailing list? We’re hoping to get to Elenor the Great, From Darkness to Light, The Eichmann Trial, and Outsider Freud.
Good advice, I’ve subscribed. We’ve booked to see The Mountain Bride, Napoli-New York and La Grazia, and my BFF and I are going to see Diamonds and The Great Ambition but we haven’t yet sorted out dates.
I spent *all day* doing my post about Southern African stories yesterday and didn’t get time to look at the JIFF program properly. Must do it today.
Sounds like you’re seeing lots at the Italian festival.
Not to overwhelm you, but also coming up are the Greek, Irish, Czech & Slovak, and British film festivals!
Sad to say, we haven’t been very impressed so far. La Grazia was the kind of film where you sneak a peek at your phone to see the time, and realise with a groan that there’s at least an hour to go before it ends.
The asparagus looks fabulous.
It was!
Chappell is the only one I know!!!!
I managed to get tickets today – I’m very excited!
Very exciting! I listened to some songs by the artists you shouted out. Lucy is not my cup of tea but I liked some songs by the others, especially Wet Leg and Role Model.
Normal People would be in my top ten too. But Alexis Wright’s Praiseworthy at no.1 (not that I voted, or even listen to the ABC these days).
I STILL haven’t read Praiseworthy…
