The #20BooksofSummerWinter challenge is complete… although I haven’t quite got to reviewing all of the books I read as part of the challenge. What I have reviewed are linked via my original post.
The important bits: I read 17 books and listened to five audios.
My challenge included some absolute standouts that will no doubt make my 2025 favourites list: Slags by Emma Jane Unsworth and The Chronology of Water by Lidia Yuknavitch.
I also enjoyed three that generated a lot of conversation (as in real-life convos): I Want Everything by Dominic Amerena; Pissants by Brandon Jackand; and The Book of Guilt by Catherine Chidgey.
My goal with this year’s challenge was to read books that had been languishing on my TBR stack and to complete a few other reading challenges – achievement unlocked 🙂 And now it’s time to focus on Short Story September.
Congratulations!
Well done!
You did well! I enjoyed the Amerena – enjoyably twisty with an interesting theme.
Well done, it’s so satisfying isn’t it to see some space emerging on those TBR shelves
Congratulations. It is such a reward when the books you choose turn out to be some of the best you have read this year. I am not familiar with the books
Well done, and glad you got some good ones read there. I was pleased to get 21 hardbacks off the TBR shelves (one abandoned and replaced) and have continued reading hardbacks from the shelves since, which I’m also glad about.
