It’s fast approaching March which in the bookish world, is Reading Ireland Month, hosted by Cathy at 746 Books. I’ll be using it as an opportunity to tackle the TBR stack and will be selecting from the following:
- A Girl is a Half-Formed Thing by Eimear McBride
- The Forgotten Waltz by Anne Enright
- The Wren, the Wren by Anne Enright
- The Mark and the Void by Paul Murray
- The Fields by Kevin Maher
- Eden Burning by Deirdre Quiery
- The Master by Colm Tóibín
- All the Broken Places by John Boyne
- Erin’s Diary by Lisa McGee
- Martin John by Anakana Schofield
- The Blood Miracles by Lisa McInerney
Last year my audience urged me to begin with the McBride, which is advice I’ll take this year 🙂
What a great list Kate! Having just read The City Changes Its Face, I’d be tempted to revisit A Girl. It’s a phenomenal book. My daughter and I read Erin’s Diary over Christmas and it is great fun
I was thinking it was time to watch all of Derry Girls again, so the timing for Erin’s Diary might be perfect.
The twins watch it on repeat, but it never gets old!
Hmm, maybe I’ll try to participate this time.
I only managed two last year – hopefully I can double my effort this year!
Of course, I have one scheduled to review this week! Too early!
I have also just finished one – might hold the review off until March 😉
Great list! I’ve read the first two and Martin John, so I’ll be interested to know how you find those if you get to them.
I’m very tempted by The Blood Miracles having enjoyed The Glorious Heresies.
I really, really, really loved Glorious Heresies and rushed to get Blood Miracles as soon as it came out… and yet, haven’t read it. I’ve been worried that it won’t match the Heresies standard!
What an enticing list; I hope you enjoy your selctions! I found the McBride was a challenge, worthwhile and impressive, but demanding. Martin John a little the same. (But Schofield is also funny!) It’s been ages since I read an Anne Enright, but I’d love to catch up with her.
Aiming for at least one of the Enrights (probably The Wren because I heard her speak about it last year).
