Things That Are Making Me Happy This Week

01.  Saw an amazing light installation at the Now or Never Festival – Sacra by Hungarian artist,  László Bordos.

02. One more Edinburgh International Book Festival event at stupid-o’clock for me – Max Porter in discussion with Rob Delaney, about Rob’s memoir, A Heart That Works. Delaney brought the same humour, truth and insight to the talk as he does in the book.

03. Dinner with old friends at the brand new Puttanesca (the Grossi family’s new venue). Food was absolutely delicious. Thrilled to have such a fab new ‘local’.

04. Watching: Couples Therapy (S3) and Am I Being Unreasonable? (both on SBS).

05. Dinner at the always reliable Movida – the winners were the anchovy fillet on a crouton with smoked tomato sorbet, and the calamari poached in olive oil, zucchini, and spicy Mallorquina sausage – and after dinner we went to…

06. …see MTC’s pairing of two Caryl Churchill plays, Escaped Alone and What If If Only. I really loved the first play (anyone who has seen it will understand the ‘terrible rage’), and was impressed by the way passing of time when grieving was depicted in the second play.

07. Lune’s monthly special, the lamington cruffin (delicious).
