Things That Are Making Me Happy This Week

01. Two days in Warburton to progress the Yarra River walking project. We’ve still got lots of in-between bits to walk but we headed to our ‘start’ – the Upper Yarra Reservoir, which is almost at capacity – see the treetops underwater in the foreground of the pic above?! There are loads of excellent walks, and we’re already planning our next visit.

02. Special mention of where we stayed – the very cool mid-century Warburton Motel.

03. Watching: The Crown.

04. The last of my Junipalooza purchases arrived and this one is all about the narrative (a gin aged in barrels made from broken cricket bats in India).

05. The lunar eclipse was spectacular.

06. Well and truly on the 50th-birthday-party circuit (and a lovely gathering of uni friends on Saturday night).

07. The work of photographer Brad Walls (I’m deciding which of his prints I need).

  1. We’ve been watching the latest series of The Crown too. Did they have a different scriptwriter for this one because the characters seem to have been given lines that are meant to be “significant” but just feel off.

  2. The Warburton pics are lush.

I missed the 50th birthday thing… I didn’t celebrate mine (it was during repatriation and I had enough things to be sorting out after almost 21 years abroad), plus I didn’t keep in touch with anyone my age from “home” so 🤷🏻‍♀️
