01. Light: Work from Tate’s Collection at Fed Square – loved the mix of old and new. The huge, hanging sculpture Stardust Particle by Eliasson, was mesmerising.

02. It was the last week of MIFF and I crammed in three more documentaries – Navalny (incredible – see it if you get the chance); Under Cover (tough viewing) and The Lost City of Melbourne (terrific and sad at the same time).
03. I went to a gnocchi making class on Saturday. I don’t have any great need to make my own gnocchi but I like cooking classes, and kneading dough is super relaxing. Bonus: the class was held at the place that makes the cannoli that sustained us during lockdowns, so obviously I had to buy a tonne while I was there (it’s all about the Sicilian ricotta filling).
04. Okay, this nail polish does go the distance. My fave is High Waisted Jeans.
05. My son had a programmable baby at home this week as part of his Health class. So realistic – grizzled at acid hour, cried as soon as son went to have a shower or eat dinner, kept son awake all night with ‘his noisy breathing’; interrupted lunchtime basketball… meanwhile all the parents of the Health students are thanking the teachers for this contraception-lesson-in-disguise.
06. When you can’t see the real thing, you go the next best – a fun night at BABBA with non-stop dancing and singing.

I think Navalny’s on Netflix. Such a courageous man! And well done your son’s school.
Deep joy – the CND nail polish is available here in UK though has to be online ordering/delivery. Have you tried it? It sounds like shellac but you don’t need a lamp to fix the polish?
Speaking as someone who fathered a baby in high school, I’m not sure the whole being responsible for getting up in the night thing would have made any difference. After all, it didn’t when I really did have to get up in the night. Every night for two years.
