01. Spectacular day at one of our favourite spots on the Yarra (in Lower Templestowe, where the platypus play).
02. Laughed at something a radio announcer (who is a middle-aged female, like me) said this week – when she gets together with her girlfriends, they have a rule – “Two minutes for ailments!” *need to implement the same rule*
03. I really, really love skirts with pockets.
04. An ARC of Lisa Taddeo’s forthcoming story collection, Ghost Lover.
05. Listening to Salvation (inspired by The Cranberries for Pieta) – I love ROE’s take on I Can’t Be With You and Sinéad O’Connor’s version of No Need to Argue.
06. The Ring Cycle in Bendigo next year – I’ve only ever seen parts of the Cycle, never had the whole experience. Tempted.
07. After a delicious gyros lunch at a friends’ house, we have invested in a Jumbuck rostisserie (apparently there’s a whole Facebook group devoted to these) – stay tuned for results.
08. And this. I want to be her best friend.
@akorzen
An older friend used to refer to the ‘organ recital’ listing of ailments when he met his pals. I’m older now and am resisting it thanks to him!
That’s a gorgeous version of No Need to Argue.
We all need to be her best friend 🙂
Thanks for the link to Salvation… downloaded and will listen soon! (I’d listen to Sinead sing her shopping list.)
Same. She has an amazing voice. I’ve just finished her memoir, Rememberings – my first five star book for the year.
I’ve just reviewed it! LOL. I read it last year and couldn’t articulate my thoughts, put something together over Christmas and then held off publishing it when I heard her son had died.
My son and his partner have bought a house in Lower Templestowe so I love point 1. Platypus? Yes!
