1. This week should be filed under #nightmare – it’s not in my DNA to dwell but it began with chicken pox, assignments and a kid with a bung knee. And it’s only Thursday.
2. A friend sent me the card* pictured above. It made me laugh.
3. First Tuesday Book Club finishes the year with a ‘viewers vote’ show – this year they’re asking people to nominate their book of the year. They have to have been published in 2015 (so thank Christ Gone Girl won’t be there). I’ve read some really good books this year but my mind keeps going back to Essbaum’s Hausfrau.
4. This might be the only thing that has ever made me feel excited about Christmas early.
5. Yes (at the risk of alienating my Gen Y readers).
6. Have I ever mentioned how much I love red peppers? I do. Once my husband said “Do you think we could have a dinner without peppers?” No. This.
7. There’s no question that this is #completerubblish but I bet you have a go.
8. I’m a seahorse.
As always, Bookish Thoughts is hosted by the lovely Christine.

Not sure I know what the seahorse stands for , but I love it.
My week has been long, too.

The seahorse is a reference to point 7 (the complete rubbish one!). Thanks for stopping by 🙂
Knee injuries and chickenpox horrify me. Thoughts are with you. Number 5 – double yes from me. At least I’m not the only one who feels that way! Love the blue nail polish. And the grammar pic.
haha bugger Gen Y 😉
I’m a frog. A frog who is going to drink gin every day of December – hooray! I hope everyone recovers from knees/chickenpox etc quickly and next week is better all round.
That made me genuinely laugh out loud 🙂
Hooray for friends who can keep you sane in the midst of nightmare weeks
You’re absolutely right!
Love the card, it gave me a good laugh. Also, yes to the Gen X article though I made the mistake of reading some of the very mean comments on it. I apparently am a gorilla who loves the spotlight and parties which couldn’t be further from the truth!
Love Love Love the Gen X article. Yes indeed! I may even have to share on my FB page…and risk pissing off some people. 🙂
lmao about the card and the ginvent calendar! 😀
According to #7 I’m a tasmanian devil xD
Very clever post and a lot of people seem far keener for Christmas if it is powered by that advent calendar!
