I MUST own this book (as soon as it’s released).
Fictitious Dishes by Dinah Fried , is a coffee-table book of literature’s most memorable meals. From Melville’s clam-chowder and Kerouac’s apple pie to a serving of Dickens’ gruel, each table is beautifully composed by the exceedingly clever Fried.
It’s published by Harper Collins and will be available in April 2014. Filing this under #needversuswant

I want this book! What a great idea.
Food and books – how can you go wrong?! I thought it was amazing how many I could guess just by looking at the photo – then again, I do obsess over food in literature…
This sounds amazing! Literary food? I’m a little hungry just by looking at the pictures but that may be because I haven’t eaten yet…
This is going to be an amazing book. I’ll definitely have to get my hands on a copy as well π
