A Living Tree Museum – Just Like ‘Eucalyptus’

I couldn’t help but share this piece from Inhabitat, a ‘living tree museum’ located near Zurich, Switzerland. Why do I like this story? It’s Murray Bail’s Eucalyptus come to life!

The museum showcases an incredible collection of 2,000 different species of trees. It was designed and built by Swiss landscape architect Enzo Enea and is located on the grounds of a 14th Century monastery.

The museum displays Enea’s personal collection of trees, which he has gathered over the past 17 years (collected when trees had to be removed from sites – instead of getting rid of them, Enea kept them).  The collection includes a special installation of about 50 species personally curated by Enea from around the world.
