Book. Because:
- there was a violent and sinister tone to Crow that dominated in the film – not so in the book (Crow was far more nuanced).
- the changing perspectives in the book worked well – was difficult to achieve the same in the film.
- I wondered if you’d not read the book, would all the elements of this film make sense? (two women left toward the end of the session I was at – would have loved to have known why!).
I didn’t know that a film was in the works. I saw the play (with Cillian Murphy) and it was stunning.
I imagine it would have worked better as a play – some of the crow bits were too gory in the movie and I don’t think they were necessary.
Good to know – Crow is a complex character and it’s a shame that’s been lost a bit.
