01. A crowd-pleaser for good reason! Lovely night at Opera Australia’s The Barber of Seville (and especially good to see my dear opera friend who I haven’t spent time with for months).
02. Two movie festivals this week:
- JIFF: The Eichmann Trial – I hadn’t seen any of this footage before. Gripping.
- BFF: The Choral – uplifting (despite the premise being grim).
03. The incredible one-woman show, Dying, at the MTC. It’s based on the memoir by Cory Taylor, which I absolutely have to read again.
04. Listening: new album from Teen Jesus and the Jean Teasers – Glory (favourite song: Daylight).
05. Cooking: Chicken, lemon and kale pot pie (because wintery weather is refusing to budge).
06. Watching: The Change (SBS) – laughing out loud from the first minute of episode one.
07. Delicious things eaten – halloumi with peperonata and hot honey at Marquis of Lorne; octopus with sourdough romesco in little cos lettuce boats at Lilac Wine Bar; fairy bread from Q Le Baker; and buttered baguette ice cream from Fluffy Torpedo (sounds weird, was stunning).

Great list. Have been to Marquis of Lorne but not for a while. Must add it to my list.
And that chicken and kale looks great too. Brown rice flour? Love that too. Haven’t cooked with that as a gluten alternative.
Oh and I do want to see Choral. Films about choirs, the war and with that cast are always goi g to get me in. I love Roger Allam’s voice (speaking I mean!)
Love Ralph Fiennes!
