It Chooses You by Miranda July
Why I have it: Because of my Miranda July phase.
Summary: In the summer of 2009, July was struggling to finish writing a screenplay. During her increasingly long lunch breaks, she began to obsessively read the PennySaver. Who was the person selling the ‘Large leather Jacket, $10’? It seemed important to find out, so July crisscrossed Los Angeles to meet a random selection of PennySaver sellers.
I’m thinking: Yes.

The MJ is so good. Got it in an op shop for $4.00 once and have read it a couple of times. So quirky and tender.

I’ve never heard of PennySavers. I’m surprised they still exist in paper format – there are so many online platforms now where you can offer something for free. Still, the book does sound intriguing
