01. I ended last week and began this week in Perth, where I was visiting my son for a few days. Lots of time spent at Fremantle – might be weird, but I LOVE watching the activity around docks, with the boats coming and going (got to use my favourite app, Marine Traffic, lots, as well as enjoying the action with beers on the deck at Gage Roads). Spent some hours at the WA Maritime Museum (it’s all about the winged keel), and saw my team put in a valiant effort in front of a tough crowd.

02. Ate well in Perth – breakfasts from Toastface Grillah and Zonts Bakehouse (the Dubai chocolate croissant wheel below); delicious steak sandwiches from Beer Corner; and a Peruvian dinner at Lima Cantina (still thinking about the ceviche).

03. I’ve opened by Melbourne International Film Festival account with By Design – seriously one of the weirdest (and therefore most memorable) films I’ve seen at MIFF.
04. Cooking: it’s basic, it’s easy, but I love this Greek lemon chicken.
05. Watched: Stolen Youth: Inside the Cult of Sarah Lawrence (this was wild!).
06. Happily distracted by Q-Less crossword game.
07. And lastly, a beautiful day with delicious food on the Q-Train (which travels along the historic Bellarine Railway from Drysdale to Queenscliff). I’m sure there were plenty of people onboard for the railway element, but we were there for the views over Swan Bay and the food and wine, all locally sourced.

I love the Q-train. We’ve done it twice, taking the ferry across the bay to add to the experience:)
It was such a relaxing day 🙂
We had a view of the docks from our Lisbon hotel last year where my partner did exactly what you were doing!
It’s a bit addictive!
I did have to drag him away on occasion.
Next time you’re in Freo we must meet for a beer … or a cake! Common Bakery, just a few doors down from New Edition, does a nice line in fancy croissants and their cinnamon scrolls are the best.
Never heard of the Q train. Sounds amazing!
Absolutely! I will be back.
Sounds like you are having fun.
Love the sound of that Greek lemon chicken … potatoes, chicken, lemons, garlic and rosemary are such a great flavour combination.
