01. My daughter had a significant birthday this week, which deserves a significant cake. No, it’s not an ordinary croissant – it’s a GIANT chocolate cake croissant (made by the very talented Something About Cake).
02. As well as the significant birthday, it’s been a big week in our house – I arrived home from Cambodia and one of my sons headed off to Europe for the summer yachting season. He doesn’t have a return ticket…
03. First of my German Film Festival selections – the very sweet The Door-to-Door Bookstore. It’s based on the novel by Carsten Henn, which is apparently based on a true story. The film is a gentle examination of grief (but probably won’t be winning any awards).
04. Cooking: One-Pan Salsa Chicken and Rice by Carolina Gelen – easy and tasty.
05. New phone case.
06. Watching: Colin From Accounts S2 – I think it’s funnier than the first season.
We saw The Tasters at the GFF last night… I wondered how they were going to make a film out of this, but it turned out well.
But take a hankie.
I love Colin From Accounts so much. The finale of Season 2 was wonderful. That cake is epic!
That is an amazing cake. I can imagine how much work went into creating such detail.
