01. More Melbourne Food and Wine Festival fun this week –
- Dinner at Amatrice – we were all there for the wagyu ragu served with pasta made using the ancient method perfected in the town of Campofilone but it was the scallops with smoked grapefruit butter that really stood out.
- storytelling through food with a mid-century twist at the Comfort Food Cabaret. Held at Robin Boyd’s Walsh Street House – a mid-century masterpiece.

02. Listening: Lucy Dacus’s new album, Forever is a Feeling, is here! And an EP from Neve (the drummer from Teen Jesus), Playgirl.
03. Sandwich outing: Saluministi (calamari, gremolata, lemon tartare on panini; and proscuitto, straciatella, roasted pumpkin and rocket on focaccia). Both delicious.

04. The sandwiches were eaten high above Collins Street – the Melbourne Quarter is an impressive public space with a (very small scale) NYC High Line vibe.

05. Watching: Scamanda (on Disney) – I had listened to the podcast a few years ago, so I knew the story but still an interesting watch (especially if you were sucked in by Apple Cider Vinegar).
06. The 2025 Women’s Prize for Non-Fiction shortlist announcement – I own two that made the list: Private Revolutions by Yuan Yang and Raising Hare by Chloe Dalton, and there’s another two that I am keen to read: The Story of a Heart by Rachel Clarke; and What the Wild Sea Can Be by Helen Scales.

Loving the new Lucy Dacus/ Hozier single
