Book, because:
- it was a true page-turner, and that’s a rare thing
- an unreliable narrator always works better on the page
- the main character’s backstory is important – again, more easily done on the page
- (all that said, the casting in the film is terrific)

For once I’ve read the book and seen the film! I agree, I thought the film was an excellent adaptation but the book was better.

I didn’t think much of the film, but I thought the book was a stunner.
The film was a good way to spend my Sunday evening but the book – and I’m not ordinarily a suspense/ thriller reader – was excellent.
I agree, although I did think the film was good but the book was great.
I certainly enjoyed the film and thought Dench was particularly good.
