It’s fast approaching March which in the bookish world, is Reading Ireland Month, hosted by Cathy at 746 Books. I’ll be using it as an opportunity to attack the TBR stack. I’ll be selecting from the following:
- A Girl is a Half-Formed Thing by Eimear McBride
- The Forgotten Waltz by Anne Enright
- The Wren, the Wren by Anne Enright
- The Fields by Kevin Maher
- The Master by Colm Tóibín
- All the Broken Places by John Boyne
- Touchy Subjects by Emma Donoghue
- Erin’s Diary by Lisa McGee
- Martin John by Anakana Schofield
- The Blood Miracles by Lisa McInerney
I think I’ll be starting with some Enright.
I haven’t heard of this challenge,I might be able to find one book to join in with.
The forgotten waltz is my favourite Enright (I didn’t think much of The Wren). And Martin John is brilliant in a rubbernecking kind of way.
I have The Wren because I’m seeing Enright speak about it in a month. I think I have Martin John on your recommendation!
Have also read A Girl is a Half-Formed Thing by Eimear McBride, which is phenomenal… never really read anything like it then or since.
Echoing Kim about the Enright. The Master was interesting but not my favourite of his, and way too long.
Might need to do two Enrights in a row (last year I did two O’Farrells). I only have The Master because I love Henry James 🙂
I think you’ll enjoy it, then
I’ve read The Forgotten Waltz, Martin John and the McBride so I’ll be interested to see how you find any of those. Happy reading!
I adored both A Girl is a Half-Formed Thing and Martin John. I’m planning to read Malarky by Anakana Schofield in the coming weeks.
Martin John is an unforgettable read!
I haven’t read any of them but I could give you at least a dozen more suggestions. LOL
