It’s week one of Novella November and the theme is My Year in Novellas.
I usually save my novella reading for November but as it happens, I’ve read three since last year’s #NovNov ended.
- Cursed Bread by Sophie MacIntosh
- My Nemesis by Charmaine Craig
- Temper by Phoebe Walker
I enjoyed all three but if I had to recommend just one, it would be Temper – I loved the combination of inner monologue, suspense, and the Dutch setting.
And speaking of a Dutch setiing, I’ll also sneak in Jente Posthuma’s novel, What I’d Rather Not Think About. It’s 202 pages, so doesn’t strictly qualify but some of the pages have only one paragraph, so it reads like a novella.
Temper caught the isolation of freelance working from home so well.
Very keen to read both Temper and Cursed Bread!
Thank you for the tips. I am looking for something and will see if I can find an e-book of Temper, and possibly Posthuma.
I read Temper as an e-book so you should be able to track it down. It certainly ticks the box for an engrossing novella.
