01. So it was the loss we had to have… But so happy to be in the finals. So happy to watch Charlie win the Coleman Medal. And extra, extra happy to be at the last game of the season proper with my best Carlton buddies.

02. Can’t believe I forgot to mention this place that made me happy last week (yes, a restaurant in a car park).

03. This week’s Melbourne International Film Festival selections:

• Little Richard: I Am Everything – I’m a sucker for a music doco and this one didn’t disappoint. The footage splicing Little Richard with more recent artists was exceptionally good.
• Fledglings – Polish documentary about a boarding school for children who are blind or vision-impaired. It’s beautifully filmed but I was completely charmed by imaginative Zosia and caring Kinga.

04. I haven’t tackled a super-challenging puzzle for ages, so getting stuck into this one. It’s really hard (but satisfying).
