Summary: As an obituary writer in Alaska, Lende draws on what she knows about last words and lives well lived.
I’m thinking: Yes.
First, We Make the Beast Beautiful by Sarah Wilson
Why I have it: spotted on Melinda’s chain.
Summary: Wilson has suffered anxiety her whole life and turns her attention to the triggers and treatments, the fashions and fads.
I’m thinking: No.

I loved The House of Sleep when I read it, something like 25 years ago. I remember it being surreal and satirical, and I enjoyed Coe’s exploration of desire and how to attain it (or not) through the metaphors of sleep and dreaming. I also liked the role the house and its location played in the story. I hope you give it a chance!
