Sample Saturday is when I wade through the eleventy billion samples I have downloaded on my Kindle. I’m slowly chipping away and deciding whether it’s buy or bye.
What Red Was by Rosie Price
Why I have it: Campus-lit and a family story.
Summary: Kate Quaile meets Max Rippon in the first week of university. A life-changing friendship begins. Max comes with baggage (his family).
I’m thinking: Yes.
Saltwater by Jessica Andrews
Why I have it: Sucked in by the cover. And campus-lit.
Summary: Coming-of-age story about Lucy who escapes her small town, goes to university in London and reinvents herself.
I’m thinking: Maybe (it’s a style thing).
Wedding Puzzle by Sallie Muirden
Why I have it: saw it described as having an ‘Austenesque feel’. And it’s set on the Mornington Peninsula.
Summary: A bride has second-thoughts on her wedding day.
I’m thinking: No.
I picked up Saltwater from the library yesterday. I’m not sure why I reserved it – must have seen it somewhere on a blog since that’s how I get my recommendations these days.
Will be interested to hear your thoughts. Not sure I liked the style but it may just take a bit to get into it.
I’m going to have to dip into it now just to see what the style is.
I don’t think any of these are for me but I do really like the cover of Saltwater.
I’ve not read any of those three, but I love the idea of doing this! I always forget you can so easily get kindle samples to try first! Happy reading.
I’m keen on What Red Was and Saltwater despite both being hyped on social media.
