I do a large portion of my reading in bed. My bedside table is a tower of books. I wish I had shelves in the bedroom – nice to have lots of books close by.

I was interested to read an interview with John Irving this week where he said “I don’t read in bed, ever… I get up early. I like to read a little before anyone but the dog is up. I also like to read at night, not in bed but just before I go to bed.”
