01. Dine Out event at Frankie’s – a delicious set menu but the standouts were the grilled octopus, snapper and tuna with tostadas and the jericalla baked custard with blood orange sorbet (below).
02. Watching: Landscapers (free-to-air channel 7 in Australia). Olivia Colman is terrific.
03. I’ve started a new swim training program, a long lead-up to an ocean swim I’m planning for next year. It will be challenging for me because in many ways, swimming is my relaxation – I get in the pool and focus on the tiles below, churning through the laps without much variation. The program is based on bursts of intensity – the distance is no problem, but keeping an eye on the clock might be.
04. Listening: Queen Madge’s new album – it’s all about the solid disco beats.
05. Choosing holiday reading is always fun.
06. Doing things right: after my spin class on Thursday night, I popped into the North Fitzroy Arms for their special one-week-only collab with Pidapipó – the Guinness Sticky Date Pudding (sticky date pudding and a scoop of Pidapipó’s specially made Guinness gelato, whipped cream, butterscotch sauce and a malt crumble). Admire how I strike a balance between exercise and deliciousness… And yay for my friend Sam who was up for a mid-week, late-ish excursion.
