It’s Week 2 of Nonfiction November, this week hosted by What’s Nonfiction. The task? Pair up a nonfiction book with a fiction title.
Schools, race, and selection – Admissions by Kendra James and Admissions by Joshua Harmon.
God appears in unexpected places – Rememberings by Sinéad O’Connor and When God was a Rabbit by Sarah Winman.
Seduced into cults – Cultish by Amanda Montell and The Girls by Emma Cline.
Time to sleep – Bear, Lion or Wolf by Olivia Arezzolo and My Year of Rest and Relaxation by Ottessa Moshfegh.
How Western society has become crazily medicalised – You’re Doing it Wrong by Kaz Cooke and Some Tests by Wayne Macauley.
Oh, I am no good at this one at all and you have put me to shame with five pairs! I shall try to think of something…
This is one of my favourite posts of the year to put together. No trick to it, I just look at the nonfiction I’ve read that year and the fiction comes to me!
Our brains must work differently!
Voila! https://anzlitlovers.com/2022/11/07/non-fiction-november-book-pairings-2/
Some really interesting pairings. I am making a note about Odessa M’s book. I remember you have talked about it earlier.
Some great combinations there, Kate. Absolutely wonderful ideas.
Book-Paring is one of my favourite weeks of Non-fiction November. My Week 2.
Fun pairings!

This is the second pairing I’ve seen with Cultish, which is on my to-read list, so definitely making a note of that! I also thought your sleep pairing was pretty delightful.
Oh, I love these! Very creative. And how clever to find a fiction and nonfiction book with the same title!
Good work! My post is linked–no pressure to click though.
These pairs are amazing! I have added You’re Doing in Wrong to my TBR – enjoy NFN!
