Why I have it: I enjoyed the Reading Matters review.
Summary: Olivia hears the world in colour, but her life is mottled grey. She is the only woman among men on a yacht delivery to Auckland and in the darkness below deck, she learns that at sea, no one can hear you scream.
I’m thinking: No – synaesthesia is fascinating but have read a few too many books recently that came with trigger warnings.

The Rearranged Life of Oona Lockhart by Margarita Montimore
Why I have it: Keeps popping up in my Goodreads feed.
Summary: 1982 – Oona Lockhart is about to celebrate her 19th birthday and ring in the New Year. But at the stroke of midnight, she is torn from her friends and finds herself in her 51yo body, 32 years into the future. Greeted by a friendly stranger, Oona learns that on every birthday she will enter a different year of her adult life at random.
I’m thinking: Yes – a modern Freaky Friday?
Oona Lockhart isn’t normally the sort of story I’d read but for some reason it really appeals to me. I’ll be interested to hear what you make of it!
I really enjoyed the Sophie Hardcastle. Not a perfect book but the language was beautifully lyrical. I would say like many first time novelists she is working something out of her system and I look forward to reading her next book.
