Sample Saturday is when I wade through the eleventy billion samples I have downloaded on my Kindle. I’m slowly chipping away and deciding whether it’s buy or bye. Not sure why I have these three – suspect I got sucked into the publishers’ marketing at some point.
The Jetsetters by Amanda Eyre Ward
Summary: When seventy-year-old Charlotte Perkins wins a cruise holiday, she reunites her estranged children for ten days of family fun… What could go wrong?
I’m thinking: No (is it pretending to be a beach read?)
Your House Will Pay by Steph Cha
Summary: Two families living in LA in the nineties – one Korean-American, one African-American – grappling with the effects of a decades-old crime.
I’m thinking: No – I don’t think I have the emotional energy for a novel about racial violence right now.
The Most Fun We Ever Had by Claire Lombardo
Summary: A multigenerational novel in which the four adult daughters of a Chicago couple (still madly in love after forty years) recklessly ignite old rivalries until a long-buried secret threatens to shatter the lives they’ve built.
I’m thinking: Yes – immediately liked the point-of-view.
