01. #MeAt20 meme on Twitter. I had such a lovely time looking through my photo albums. Realised that I was a BABY in every pic – in the one above, 1992, (I’ll save you the math, I’m 47 now), I was on holiday in Bermagui with uni friends.
02. The next Marimekko and Uniqlo collab.
03. Eating ‘breakfast’ food at times other than breakfast (working from home means eggs for lunch).
04. Autumn colour in the garden.
05. Packet brownie mix with added Morello cherries and chopped up Cherry Ripes (Black Forest Brownies, obvs).
06. This article about why we swim (thanks Ellie).
07. Chocolate babka from Woodfrog Bakery. Made into French toast the next day (see 03. above).
08. PE with Joe.
09. Mrs America (on Foxtel)
10. The smooth feel of a finished jigsaw.
You know the really good thing about online jigsaws? There are *never* any missing pieces!
I totally understand the logic in online jigsaws but I don’t like them at all – I need the tactility of jigsaws, the sorting, and the testing of pieces. As it is, we have dozens of puzzles and I only have one with a missing piece!

You’re right, of course. It’s just that I have my scrapbooking all over the table in the library, and my French and Latin books all over the dining table, and, well, you know how cranky great cooks get if the family room table has no room left for the culinary masterpiece!
Love this post!! So nice to think about just some positive things <3
Given all that’s happening in the world, I’m trying to focus a bit more regularly on the positives!
I’m a yoga with Adriene girl myself, but my nieces are loving PE with Joe 😀
I’ve never been into yoga but a few of my friends are now Adriene devotees. I am wondering how many people will drop gym memberships after this is over, save money and stick to online activities??
Those brownies!!!
So good, so easy. We just used a Green’s brownie mix (the cheapest!), added two Cherry Ripes and approx. 1/2 – 3/4 cup Morello cherries (minus the syrup).
Brilliant!
Oh look at you! What a lovely photo!
Couldn’t believe how young I looked… (because I didn’t feel that way at the time!)
Those brownies sound wonderful as does choclate French toast.
My kids are doing a LOT of lockdown baking 🙂
We have a flour shortage here which is probably the only thing saving us both from doubling in size!
I do love that photo of you. It’s very “Blossom” (if that’s a cultural ref that means anything to you). Do you see your children in yourself at that age?
I think you’d definitely enjoy Bonnie Tsui’s book about the history of swimming.
I don’t know Blossom… maybe I’m too old or perhaps it wasn’t big in Australia? The hat – I don’t recall wearing hats in that way (fashion statement?!), but clearly I did!
Two of my kids look very much like me, or rather, I look like my dad and my kids share the same features. I have some photos of my daughter that could be me at the same age. Oddly, I see the similarities mostly in small details like the angle of someone’s face or body. I have a photo of my son at age three, sitting on my dad’s lap reading a book – they’re ‘identical’.
It was airing at that time, but maybe didn’t make it to Australia. I was a little young for it but I remember the character and the look. It’s the only thing I know Mayim Bialik from other than The Big Bang Theory.
You were a very young 20. Or perhaps I just forget what 20 looks like, my children are 40. I saw an ad today for an open water swim at Monkey Mia (1km or 4km) in winter later this year. Makes me wish I was still swimming.
