Stella Prize 2020 Longlist Predictions

The Stella Prize 2020 longlist will be announced tomorrow night.

Unlike the judges, I’ve only read a dozen or so eligible books but I’m aware of a bunch that keep crossing my radar. On that rather flimsy basis, I’m predicting the longlist*.

A Constant Hum by Alice Bishop
The Weekend by Charlotte Wood
Exploded View Carrie Tiffany
There Was Still Love by Favel Parrett
Wolfe Island by Lucy Treloar
The Yield by Tara June Winch
The Trespassers by Meg Mundell
Here Until August by Josephine Rowe
Paris Savages by Katherine Johnson
Night Fishing by Vicki Hastrich
Sea People by Christina Thompson
The Cherry Picker’s Daughter by Aunty Kerry Reed-Gilbert

What gems have I missed?

The shortlist will be announced in March and the winner in April.

*The longlist is made up of twelve books, usually a mix of fiction and non-fiction, memoirs and short stories (all must have been published in 2019).
