Nonfiction November – Book Pairings

It’s Nonfiction November, this week hosted by Sarah’s Bookshelves. The task? Pair up a nonfiction book with a fiction title.

I have so much fun with this topic (past post, and here), and other bloggers’ book-pairings have resulted in a lot of books being added to my TBR sack.

When relationships get messy, the band does not get back together – Bright Lights, Dark Shadows: The Real Story of ABBA by Carl Magnus Palm and Daisy Jones and The Six by Taylor Jenkins Reid.

The far-reaching impact of sexual abuse – Eggshell Skull by Bri Lee and Putney by Sofka Zinovieff.

Growing up in crazy circumstances – The Feel Good Hit of the Year by Liam Pieper and Boy Swallows Universe by Trent Dalton.

Bushfires and what happens afterwards… – The Arsonist by Chloe Hooper and A Constant Hum by Alice Bishop.

Survivor guilt and generational trauma – Small Wrongs by Kate Rossmanith and Lola Bensky by Lily Brett

  1. I love this pairing week, but I thought you do just one. What is the expectation?

I am going to concatenate, as I did last year, my Non-fiction November posts into one or two posts. The first one will probably be next week.

  2. Youve just reminded me that I was halfway through A Constant Hum before my work closed for renovations for a month. We’ve been reopened nearly a month now, but it’s been such a hectic month that things like my latest lunch time read have been forgotten. Time to reinstate the ritual! And finish a constant hum😊
Live the Putney & Bri Lee pairing too.

  5. Great pairings, very wide-ranging! I only managed one pair but it’s a good one (published today, just now) after being slightly intimidated by this week in the schedule when I initially saw it. I started exploring the Link-up after adding my post and am now following your blog using my Feedly reader. Looking forward to reading more!
