Sample Saturday is when I wade through the eleventy billion samples I have downloaded on my Kindle. I’m slowly chipping away and deciding whether it’s buy or bye.
How to be Famous by Caitlin Moran
Why I have it: Was reminded of this new release by Ola (and I loved How to Build a Girl).
Summary: Johanna Morrigan is 19 and living in London in 1995 – the epicentre of Britpop. Unrequited love, a two-night-stand and a monthly column in a magazine get her into all sorts of strife.
I’m thinking: Yes (if only for the accompanying 72-song playlist).
Hey Ladies! by Michelle Markowitz & Caroline Moss
Why I have it: Spotted on this list – it’s a great list but very few are available on Kindle…
Summary: The story of eight best friends, one year, and way too many emails.
I’m thinking: No, too many exclamation marks.
Therapy by Sebastian Fitzek
Why I have it: No idea.
Summary: Viktor’s twelve-year-old daughter, Josy, vanished under mysterious circumstances. Years later, Viktor meets a woman who claims to be a novelist who suffers from an unusual form of schizophrenia: all the characters she creates for her books become real. One of her characters is Josy.
I’m thinking: No – OTT-first-chapter-suspense-building is not my thing.
