I think I am going to have to pretend that there is a world paper shortage of cataclysmic proportions which means that no new books can be published in 2018. That’s the only way to avoid my purchasing going wild since I have the resistance of a gnat.
I had a book-buying ban in 2016 and once I got through the first few months, it was a cinch – found I tuned-out of all the ‘new release noise’. I think with your 2018 ‘naked reading’ approach, you’ll find you do the same (that is, tune out of what publishers are pushing and tune in to what you feel like reading).
So many goodies here, I hardly know where to start! Ms Ice Sandwich is a lovely read.
So many enticing choices here! And now I have to leave this post, as I’m supposed to be on a book buying ban….

I’m really looking forward to new books by Sittenfeld and Moshfegh too. Lionel Shriver’s new short story collection Property is also high on my list.
