I’m thinking: No. Think I’m over books filled with rapid-fire one-liners.
This Bright River by Patrick Somerville
Why I have it: Because both Rory and Annabel loved it (in 2012!).
Summary: Two people, each with a bunch of problems, return to their hometown in Wisconsin where their paths intersect.
I’m thinking: Maybe. The prologue is weird (but intriguing).
Red Love – the story of an East German family by Maxim Leo
Why I have it: General Berlin Wall fascination.
Summary: Maxim Leo looks at history through the lens of his own family, examining why the GDR was not what people dreamed and why, in the end, it fell apart.
I’m thinking: Yes
