Bookish (and not so bookish) Thoughts

01. My favourite tweet this month. No, scratch that. This year.

02. Quite liked this one as well… *feeling ancient*

03. Book to TV adaptations that are in the works (I think Swing Time will be tops).

04. Love the Little Library Cafe blog. Love. Now there’s a book

05. Rare roll cloud spotted in Queensland last week – I am desperate to see one of these…

06. Couple of weeks ago I mentioned the best toasted cheese sandwich – more deets on cheese.

07. I love Macklemore’s gift to his grandma on her 100th birthday.

08. Mean Girls and Clueless – the musicals.

09. Lastly, HOW GOOD is The Handmaid’s Tale?! The cinematography is superb.

Bookish Thoughts is hosted by Christine at Bookishly Boisterous. Stop by, say g’day.

  1. I really enjoyed this post! I want to do more personable posts like yours on my blog.

I’m new to blogging and book reviewing, and I was wondering if you had any tips for newbie bloggers and book reviewers.

If you have the time, please check out my blog @breenysbooks. I’d love any feedback. Have a wonderful day.

    • Thanks for stopping by! There’s obviously tonnes of memes to get involved in – I don’t do many, or any regularly, just what grabs my fancy! I think if you’re starting out with reviews, stick to genres that you like and don’t feel you ‘have’ to review a book simply because you’ve been given an ARC. Good luck with your blog, it looks lovely.

  2. That first one!!!!

The Handmaid’s Tale cinematography is so good. The settings are so lush and I like whatever overlay they used on the colors. (It’s sort of over saturated and muted at the same time.)

Book to TV: You has been on my TBR list since it came out, but I haven’t seen it on sale and my local overdrive libraries don’t have it! (I’ve put the requests in a few times.)

I love Macklemore. His songs are really hit and miss (this one is a hit), but he does seem like a really genuine person. *^-^*

    • You’re exactly right about the colours in Handmaid’s – the red, green and white seems so intense and somehow everything else is pared back.

  3. I’ve not watched The Handmaid’s Tale yet but really must get my act together.

I love the first meme and the second one scares the bejesus out of me. How can I be that old?!
