  1. What a wonderful, insightful review of this marvellous novel, Kate. A definite must-read! Having recently read the equally marvellous novel The Sorrows of an American by American writer Siri Hustvedt, published in 2008, I wondered whether Georgia had been inspired by it.

  3. I’m glad you enjoyed it; it wasn’t one for me. It took me three goes to get into (I think I instinctively knew the showy prose wasn’t for me) but persevered because of the Stella Prize shortlisting.
