Party of One: A Memoir in 21 Songs by Dave Holmes
Why I have it: Spotted on the Goodreads 2016 Choice Awards in the memoir category.
Summary: Dave Holmes has spent his life not quite fitting in – he tells his story through music (mostly of the nineties variety).
I’m thinking: Yes (because Bee Girl and “…I tried to be each of the five archetypes from The Breakfast Club, all four of the Facts of Life girls…”).
Brain on Fire: My Month of Madness by Susannah Cahalan
Why I have it: Spotted on Sarah’s list of discussion-provoking short books.
Summary: Cahalan woke up alone in hospital, strapped to her bed, with no memory of how she’d gotten there. One moment she’s a successful journalist (with a possible bedbug problems in her tiny apartment), next she’s labeled violent, psychotic, and a flight risk.
I’m thinking: Yes. There’s Ekbom Syndrome (which reminded me of the fascinating Morgellons story in this collection).
Lust & Wonder: A Memoir by Augusten Burroughs
Why I have it: Spotted on the Goodreads 2016 Choice Awards in the memoir category.
Summary: Burroughs turns his attention to the development and demise of the different relationships he’s had.
I’m thinking: Maybe. He’s an engaging writer but it’s possible I’ve had enough of Burroughs’s self-destructiveness.
Party of One: A Memoir in 21 Songs sounds very intriguing.

Brain on Fire on fire has been on my TBR for ages. Sounds terrifying but interesting to say the least.
I really really really need to read a couple of memoirs / non-fiction books in 2017 – or at least listen to them via audiobook or something!
