Couldn’t care about the Oprah hoopla or whether to shelve James Frey’s A Million Little Pieces in fiction or non-fiction – all I want to know is whether the root-canal bit was legit.

Seemed legit to me, having had not one but two done.
But that he did it without any pain relief?! I’ve had one (and thought I was going to die….).
Meaning during the drilling etc or before getting to the dentist? (It’s a while since I read it, I can’t remember.) I also thought I was going to die before I got to the dentist, awful awful thing.
Before getting to the dentist and when dentist first started poking around to identify the problem – seemed ridiculous that a ‘hard’ tooth can be so ‘tender’. Probably not helped by the fact that it was my first (and only) filling so I had no idea what to expect. That James Frey had the exposed nerve removed without anaesthetic seems unbelievable – surely you’d pass out?!
I’ve not read this – I’m not sure I want to know what the root canal bit is…
After I posted my comment the preceding comments became visible – ouch…
IKR? I can’t even think about it…
I internally shuddered reading the comments, and got a little queasy.
It goes on for pages *passes out*
