So I may have had many drinks with bubbles last night…
Which may have left me feeling less than energetic today…
But onward and upward because I promised Sheila at Book Journey that I’d share my first book of 2016. And that book is the contemporary classic (is that an oxymoron… don’t know, I’m too ‘tired’ to think about it), Crossing to Safety by Wallace Stegner.
Thanks for being a part of first book! Maybe relax this morning and nap a bit 🙂 I love your book cover.
Thanks Sheila and thanks for hosting a fun (and easy) Jan 1st event!
Oh, I like the sound of this one…I haven’t yet read this author, but I’ll be checking it out. Thanks for sharing…and for visiting my blog. Happy New Year!
Halfway through Laurel and it is superb. Truly fantastic. If you like Yates, you’ll like this.
Enjoy your… tough morning, haha. And happy new year!
Happy New Year to you! (Joyfully, now that my kids are older I can make them my mini-butlers on days like this – bring mum a drink *I’ll pay you a dollar*, please plug my phone in…, a Lindor ball would be good, fetch them and you can have one…)
Happy First Book of the New Year – love the pic as well.
Couldn’t do anything as energetic as getting out of bed to take my pic!
ENJOY your book!!
Hope you feel better.
Happy New Year!!

My First Book Of The Year
Of yes, hard to grumble when it’s self-inflicted-champagne-related!
LOL…Yeah…I guess you can’t complain when you put it that way. 🙂
Hope today is better.
Such a sad, beautiful book. Stegner is one of my all time favorite authors and this one did not disappoint.
Looks like a perfect way to start the new year. I didn’t stop reading or roll out of bed until after 10am!
I’m halfway through. It’s my perfect kind of story and I’m starting to think that it will set the bar very, very high for 2016.
Happy 2016 Reading! (take a nap–LOL)
Am fully rested now and nearly finished the book (it’s wonderful!).
An excellent book to start the year with!
Have finished it now – LOVED it.
