Bookish (and not so bookish) Thoughts

jonathan-crombie-gilbert-blythe1. This. Oh my goodness. #ALLTHETEARS

2. And the Stella Prize winner was The Strays by Emily Bitto.

3. Which brings me to my second 5/5 read for the year – Joan London’s The Golden Age (robbed!).

4. Still on prizes, hooray for All the Light We Cannot See taking out the Pulitzer for fiction.

5. My book group is reading Ali Smith’s How to Be Both this month (yay!). The book consists of two different stories and different editions begin with different stories. My e-book version allows me to choose which story I want to start with. For those that have read it, should I begin with ‘Eyes’ or ‘Camera’?

6. Yellow is my favourite and best colour. Minion yellow might actually be my favouritest and bestest.

  1. I would suggest read camera first then eyes, but only because it’s how I read it. I’ve heard people say also that the other way around would be ‘not as good’ but they too have started with camera.

    I too love yellow.

  2. I started with Eyes and am glad I did but I can’t unread it and experience it from the other side to give an unbiased opinion! Eyes may seem a bit of hard work every so often but stick with it! Camera will then just knock you away.

  3. Minion yellow is not my favorite, but I do like yellow. In fact, I just got a yellow print for my kitchen that says “You will have your cake and eat it too” (a bit of an obnoxious sentiment, but also cute).
