Bookish (and not so bookish) Thoughts

Apologies in advance to our host, Bookishly Boisterous, and the other participants who have put effort into this week’s meme. My post is lack-lustre and light-on.

1. I have had an insanely busy week – and not in a productive Get Shit Done way. No, it’s been that annoying ping-ponging-emails and returning-phonecalls and chase-up-invoices kind of week, with a little bit of being hassled on social media thrown in. Let’s file it under #yuck.

2. I’m about to buy my son these:

drums

So let’s file me under #mental.

3. Same son said this as he was turning off his reading light a few nights ago –

“I wish I lived on the other side of the world so I was just waking up and then I could keep reading my book.”

File that under #ace

4. My reading has been ho-hum this week. I’m in the middle of Charlotte Street by Danny Wallace and A Long Way Down by Nick Hornby. File them under #ladlitoverload

5. Had my hair cut yesterday. Told my hairdresser to make me look like Kim Wilde. Let’s overlook the fact that she said “Who’s Kim Wilde” (hairdresser is very young) and thank god for smart phones. I googled. She wielded the blow dryer. The results were #fab. Now I just need to walk around with a fan blowing in front of me for the full effect (pics – Kim, then my hair {just the side})

  1. Love your son’s comment about reading his book! 🙂 And love the new haircut 😀

I think it’s just one of those weeks (when I did my entry yesterday it seemed rather blah as well–I suppose it’s the one thing I should be thankful about the whole Rob Ford fiasco, it’s keeping me somewhat entertained (albeit cringing at the same time))
