Rules of Civility by Amor Towles

rules-of-civility-amor-towles

For a relatively long book, this is a very short review of Amor TowlesRules of Civility.

Rules of Civility is a love letter to New York city, to the Jazz Age, to the year 1938. I suspect it’s also Towles’ love letter to F. Scott Fitzgerald.

I thoroughly enjoyed every lush, carefully constructed sentence.

Dare I leave it at that? Yes.

4/5 Every word is a Big-Apple-Art-Deco treat.
